On my wedding night, I didn't share my bed with my husband, yet I ended up pregnant.
Because I'm a transmigrator; I knew ahead of time that my husband had an inseparable “only love”.
On our wedding night, he was bound to abandon me to be with her.

To change my cannon-fodder fate of certain death in the book, I picked up a grievously injured villain from the roadside to take my husband's place in the wedding chamber.
The experience was… not bad, actually.
Left alone in my empty chamber, I later climbed over the wall to my charming widowed neighbor's place.
Now I had a child on the way, but I didn't know who the father was.
Just as I was fretting over the baby's future, the Male Lead, the Grand Villain, and the Charming Widower all showed up at my door, fighting to be the father.
They were brawling over the baby, all demanding in unison: "Who do you want the baby to call father?"

"Congratulations, Madam. You are with child."
Hearing the physician's words, I jerked my arm back.
I wanted to argue if he had misdiagnosed me, but seeing his graying hair, I swallowed my words.
Afraid that rebutting him might lead to him diagnosing some other ailment, I paid the fee and fled in a panic.

Because I was married, yet hadn't been intimate with my husband. I was pregnant, yet didn't know the father.
If I didn't run, someone might recognize me.
What a mess. People say when you see a character with your name in a novel, you should memorize the whole plot. Who knew I'd get so angry at the idiotic plot halfway through that I cursed out the author and died of rage?
Next thing I knew,, I transmigrated into this cannon-fodder with the same name and surname. My sole purpose was to hold the position of the Male Lead's legal wife for the Female Lead in the early stages.
Once the Female Lead leveled up spectacularly, I'd be written off to make room for her.
I transmigrated right at the wedding night. Remembering the moronic Male Lead, I was utterly panicked. If only I'd come a day earlier, I could have found a way to break off the engagement.
But here I was, already in the bridal chamber. What could I do?
Thankfully, that night, the Female Lead coquettishly pulled him away.
But thinking about the nonsense those two would pull later infuriated me. So, I secretly picked up the grievously injured Grand Villain from the roadside and pinned him to my bed.
I, lacking self-control, couldn't resist the temptation of his beauty. Later, I climbed over the wall to my charming widowed neighbor's place.
But the plot misled me!!!
Didn't the book say the villain was sterile and the widower infertile? Then where did the bun in my oven come from?
Could this be the legendary Steel Womb?
But wasn't that the Female Lead's special trait?
Since when could a cannon-fodder like me have it?
On the way back, I was in a daze. Then, right at the entrance, I ran into my husband, Davis. I muttered "bad luck" under my breath.
He was picking flowers to charm Callie, smiling warmly at her. Spotting me out of the corner of his eye, his face instantly twisted with impatience.
I have to say, what a natural talent for changing expressions.
Callie saw me and timidly pushed Davis's arm away, hiding behind him like a scared rabbit.
She thought she was subtle, but with so few people in the large entrance courtyard, who couldn't see her hiding?
Anyone could tell she was avoiding me. You'd think I had done something terrible to her.
First time seeing someone drop hints so blatantly.
But Davis ate it up. Look how it pained him.
He glared at me, shielding her behind him, looking at me with utter disdain: "Maya, the only one I love is Callie. I know you're desperately infatuated with me, but don’t come waiting for me here. I won't go with you."
"Even if you come a thousand times, ten thousand times, it wouldn't equal as Callie’s just standing still. Because I will always go to her."
I shook the things in my hand and fired back at them both: "Didn't see you? Are you blind? Also, overthinking is an illness; get it treated. Otherwise, if I see a stray dog on the street, I might suspect you think it's waiting for you."
Davis's expression froze instantly, looking utterly ridiculous.
I added, pointing a finger, "Your expression management needs work."
His face darkened further. Callie was still subtly stoking the fire: "Maya, why twist Davis's meaning? That's clearly not what he intended."
Davis gave her an appreciative glance, then turned a stormy face back to me to vent his anger: "Maya, with your background, shouldn't you be grateful just to marry me? Who gave you the nerve to criticize me?"
Callie piped up beside him with more of her insidious words: "Maya, what you're doing is too much. Unlike me, I only feel heartache for Davis."
"It's all my fault for being born so lowly and unworthy of Davis. If I weren't, I would never let him suffer such indignity."
Davis's expression softened slightly at this. Moved, he declared: "Callie, who is worthy isn't for others to decide."
"In the Davis household, whoever I acknowledge is the mistress."
Listening to his resounding words, I touched my belly and smiled without a word.
I hoped Davis would firmly remember what he said today.
